Sound in the online class
If you have any questions about how to make your piano sound good in an online lesson, or about how to position yourself, on this page you will find guidance to be prepared for the session and get the most out of it.
Basic instructions for Zoom

Zoom cuts off the sound
Zoom is designed to clean up the sound so that voices in a conversation are clear. The piano is a loud instrument, and by default, it will either cut it off abruptly or make it sound excessively distorted.
To avoid this, the simplest step is to activate the "original sound for musicians" option. This only needs to be done once, and the option will be saved for all your Zoom calls. It's located in the top right corner, as shown in the image.
First , within a call, go to the audio settings.
Secondly, look for the "audio profile" section and select "original sound for musicians." It also helps to uncheck echo cancellation and noise reduction, as these can also try to mute the piano sound.
To avoid echo, wear headphones during class.
Once you've selected this option, it won't be activated automatically. You'll need to return to the call screen and activate it by clicking on "original sound for musicians" in the upper right corner. You'll have to repeat this process for each call.
Remember to use headphones!

Get the best sound (recommended)
Even after following the steps described above, the sound is sometimes not clean. This can be because Zoom continues to cut the loud piano sound and also due to speaker distortion.
There is a way to achieve a better sound, which I especially recommend to higher-level students, as they are the most affected by this issue.
Download a virtual mixer
If you download a virtual mixer, you can ask Zoom to use it as your microphone . The mixer captures all your audio, and you can adjust the volume from there. In my case, I use Voicemeeter ; I open it before a session and select it as my microphone. You can see this better in the images above, in my microphone list. Once configured, all you have to do is remember to open the program before a call . You also need to select the "musician sound" option.
